
OVERHEAD CRANE TRAINING
This certification course is intended for all workers using indoor or outdoor overhead cranes also known as Bridge Cranes or Jib Cranes. This is a 2 in 1 certification with a basic rigging skills component.
The Overhead Crane safety course from Safety First Training is a CSA / ANSI based program that teaches about the various types of overhead cranes, pre-operation inspection, overall equipment features, safe operation procedures and hazard avoidance.

All certifications program are compliant with Worksafe BC Part 14. 34 to 14. 58 and CSA Standards #B167-16
In-CLASS TEACHING
We will come to your facilities and set up our learning environment at the location of your choosing. Class time varies from 2 to 4 hours (depending on the size / experience of the class).
Workers will learn about the equipment they will use based on these 3 principles:

How to fit the equipment to them.
-
How to safely use or operate the equipment.
-
How to care for it (inspections, maintenance, cleaning and storage)
We follow and teach CSA , ANSI guidelines in addition to Worrksafe BC regulations.
Maintenance, hazards identification, and safe use are only a few of the topics approached.
Students will participate in a celebration of knowledge (test) at the end of the class, successful participants will go on with the practice part of the training.
Practice & Evaluation
After completing the class part of the course, students are invited to practice, under supervision, with equipment.
Inspections, safe use, mount and dismount, and hazards identification, will be observed.
Once practice is validated, students will receive a certificate (card) of completion.

Basic RiggING Skills
Selection and inspection of rigging equipment.
Hand Signals
Hand signals are vital for crane operators, distances and noise can prevent proper communication, hand signals are a good way to communicate effectively.
Operational Hazards
You will learn to manage and control your environment for a safe lift.
Safe Load Handling & Load Capacity
During the practice part of the course we will teach you the basics of load and swing control.
